Ex PlayStation Boss Leads ‘Interactive Gaming Ventures’ Offering Cash Investment & Guidance To Indies
Former Sony Computer Entertainment America boss Jack Tretton is the new Managing Partner of Interactive Gaming Ventures, a "strategic video game firm" whose main goal will be to offer cash investment, industry relations and guidance to independent developers.
Jack Tretton, now Managing Partner at Interactive Gaming Ventures, said:
Traditional private equity and venture firms appreciate the 100 billion dollar size of the gaming industry, but most lack the understanding and the comfort level to invest in it. We provide these studios structure, cash infusion, and use our relationships to ensure that they are getting an appropriate share of voice from first parties backed by investors that know the industry and seek the outstanding financial returns that a well run publisher can provide.
Jack Tretton is joined at Interactive Gaming Ventures by Doug Kennedy, CEO of Studio Wildcard (the developers of ARK: Survival Evolved) and Co-Founder of PR agency Reverb Communications.
Interactive Gaming Ventures will provide the following resources to two to three select studios per year, allowing them to focus 100% of their attention on building games:
- Project Funding
- Development Support and Resources
- Full Service Marketing and Advertising
- Public Relations
- Publisher Relations
- Mergers and Acquisitions Resources
- Community Relations
- Brand Management
- General Operations Management
Studios will be able to submit their projects for application on the official website (though it doesn't appear to be ready yet).
