NVIDIA's upcoming RTX 5060 and RTX 5050 laptop GPUs were spotted on an upcoming ASUS gaming laptop, which is currently open for pre-order.
Moroccan Retailer Reveals Upcoming ASUS TUF Gaming F16 Carry RTX 5060 and RTX 5050 Laptop GPUs; Both to Feature 8 GB GDDR7 Memory
The GeForce RTX 5060 is surely confirmed to bring GDDR7 memory, but several previous leaks indicated that the GeForce RTX 5050 will ship with GDDR6 memory, including the laptop variant. If you remember, an LG gaming laptop was leaked in January, revealing the RTX 5050 with 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM, but the latest leak points to the latest GDDR7 memory type.
While the same can't be said for the desktop RTX 5050 variant, it appears that the laptop RTX 5050 might be getting faster memory. It might be a little too early to confirm this, but this is what the Moroccan retailer Mediazone has revealed. The product page showcases the upcoming ASUS TUF Gaming F16 gaming laptop model, which will succeed the current F16 gaming laptop that ships with Intel 13th gen CPUs paired with either an RTX 4060 or RTX 4050.
The upcoming edition will feature the latest RTX 50 series GPUs, including the RTX 5070, RTX 5060, and the RTX 5050. As per specifications, the RTX 5060 and RTX 5050 will both carry 8 GB VRAM capacity and also the same memory type: GDDR7. The laptops will feature Intel's 14th-generation Core i7 processors and are currently available for pre-order. The model with the RTX 5050 GPU is listed at 19,900 DH or US$2066, including the VAT of $371, which reveals the original price as $1722.

The RTX 5060-based gaming laptop is priced at 21,490 DH, which translates to US$2231 with VAT and $1860 without VAT. We can't confirm the date of release, but we have seen a few such instances where the OEMs and vendors have started to prepare their RTX 5060 and RTX 5050-based products, including the latest HP OMEN 16L gaming PC with RTX 5060 Ti.
Reports indicate that the RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB and 16 GB editions will launch in mid-April while the RTX 5060 will launch in mid-May. The RTX 5050 launch date is yet to be disclosed but should be closer to the launch of the RTX 5060. Hopefully, the RTX 5050 comes with GDDR7 memory because it's going to be roughly 10 Gbps faster than GDDR6 used on the predecessor, i.e., the RTX 4050. As for the desktop variant, the reports of GDDR6 being used are stronger but nothing is confirmed yet.
