A new PlayStation 5 DualSense controller PC app called PCXSense is now available for download, allowing users to get more out of the controller in PC games and emulators.
The app, whose beta release can be downloaded from Github, allows users to do things not normally possible even with official support, such as the ability to tweak trigger sensibility and behavior in emulators like Yuzu, Cemu, and Dolphin, and create custom adaptive trigger profiles and macros. While several games support the controller natively on PC, not too many come with adaptive triggers support, so this app will allow users to recreate the adaptive triggers features seen in PlayStation 5 games or create their own from scratch.
The PlayStation 5 base controller was updated last year with the DualSense Edge, which comes with plenty of improvements and enhancements over the regular model, such as replaceable sticks, profile customization directly from the console, customizable trigger stops, and more. All things considered, the DualSense Edge is the first-party controller that I’ve been waiting for on a Sony console for years. While it does not have the battery life that lives up to being a $200 prestige controller, charging the controller on a nightly basis or using the DualSense Edge as a wired controller gets around that concern. This is one controller I plan on reaching for above all else when the gaming mood strikes me.
