Apple Releases OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan Beta 1 – Download Now
Having released iOS 9.2 beta download to developers a while back, Apple has just released OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan beta 1 for those enrolled in the Apple Developer Program.
Apple is rolling out beta software at the speed of light it seems, and having released iOS 9.1 download and OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan final a while back, the company is not resting on its laurels and has pushed out a new pre-release build for its desktop operating system as well.
At this point in time, it's unclear what the new pre-release build, OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan, brings to the Mac. But if we lift the lid off previous releases, then it's a sure shot deal that the newly released software focusses on stability and performance enhancements. Given that El Capitan is a release that focusses strictly on power user features, it's highly likely that this release refines what's already available to the public.
If you're enrolled in the Apple Developer Program, then you can grab the beta build right away and install it on your Mac. Keep in mind that you have to part with $99 on an annual basis to get access to Apple's beta software for the desktop and mobile both, which, if you're asking us, is not a bad deal, considering you can get to grips with pre-release software before anyone else. Besides, if you consider yourself a diehard Apple follower, then it's worth the investment.
Be sure to download and install OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan on a Mac that is not your daily driver, because you don't want yourself to be hitting roadblocks at the least expected corners. Lastly, we recommend performing a clean install if you want to reap the benefits of the new update to its fullest. Although you can take the route of updating over the current build, but performing an OTA update has its flaws, such as degraded battery life if you're in the ownership of a MacBook, or performance related issues at some corners.
If we find something new in this release then we'll definitely highlight it right here, so stay tuned for more news in the time to come. If you're a developer, then we encourage you to update to the new pre-release build so that you can test out your apps or games in the fullest manner.
