Apple has just released the iOS 11.2.2 security update for everyone with a 64-bit device at hand. This update fixes the Spectre bug which was reported on a few days back. Needless to say, this is an important update and everyone should download and install it right now without giving it a second thought at all.

Here’s the changelog.

Download iOS 11.2.2 Over the Air.

Weighing in at just 75MB, this is a small update and you should install it over the air right away like any other iOS update. In order to do so, simply connect your device to a WiFi network and a charger. Once done, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update. Tap on Download and Install as the update shows up. Your device will reboot in order to complete installation, so that Facebook session has to wait for a while.

Just download the IPSW file for your device linked below then head over to the guide right here: How to Clean Install iOS 11.2.2 on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. You will be required to have iTunes installed on your PC or Mac in order to clean install the new firmware. You can get it for free straight from Apple’s website:

I can’t emphasize enough on how important this update is, therefore do not skip out on it, until or unless security is of zero priority in your book, which I’m sure isn’t. So do yourself a favor and do what is written in the ‘Over the Air’ update section right now.
