iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5 Beta 4 released to developers

Apple has released the fourth iteration of the iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5 beta for iPhone and iPad. Since each beta takes us closer to the launch, we are glad that the updates are consistent now. Apple has finally released beta 4 of its upcoming iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5 update to developers.

New betas now available for iPhone and iPad

The new beta update arrived a week after beta 3 was released to developers. Beta 4 of iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5 can be downloaded on iPhone and iPad models over the air. This means that you will not have to download a dedicated profile for the updates to hit your device. Registered developers will automatically receive the update in your iPhone's Settings app.

iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5 beta 4 can be downloaded on your device by heading over to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates > and following the on-screen instructions to download and install the beta on your device. Before you do so, make sure that your Apple ID is connected to your Developer Account. If it is not, the update will not appear in the Settings app. The process is the same on the iPhone and iPad.

As for what is new in the latest build, users can expect changes oriented towards developers. The new utilities are imposed by the EU under the Digital Markets Act. Developers would now be able to offer their apps on the web. However, not everyone will be able to utilize the feature, as it is only available in the EU.

Other than this, the beta 4 of iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5 hints at the forthcoming Apple Pencil for the OLED iPad Pro. We will wait for the developers to tinker with the latest build to discover what else is new in the new beta builds. Apple has also seeded additional updates, so be sure to check that out as well.

Potentially, iOS 17.5 will be the last update before the WWDC 2024 event. Developers would be able to download and install iOS 18 and additional updates soon after the event is over. iOS 18 is Apple's biggest update for the iPhone, as it brings a boatload of new changes to the table.
