Creative Assembly New IP to be a Tactical-FPS, According to Job Listing
The folks at Creative Assembly are one of my favorite developers. They nailed that down like a criminal getting nailed to the cross in ancient Rome. Ironically, they nailed it down while depicting ancient Rome in Rome: Total War and then almost every Total War game after that. Don’t forget Alien: Isolation too.
This project sounds very much like a job listing we covered the company were hiring for last November. What was revealed then is a number of the aspects that will go into the game design. This ranged from “core gameplay systems, such as weapons, movement, abilities, gadgets, health and other underlying gameplay systems.”.
Another job went on to describing other aspects of the title, stating that the employee would be “responsible for defining the range and depth of the metagame. You will be designing and implementing the game’s Meta framework, including economy, progression and retention methods, leaderboards, challenges, world building and events.”
Do you remember Stormrise? It was a strategy-shooter game made by Creative Assembly Australia and has seemingly been wiped from the face of the earth. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that it isn’t going to be anything to do with that. A safe bet since it’s a brand new IP they’re working on. I just wanted to mention Stormrise.
Adding to that information, we now know from a fresh job listing that the game will be a tactical first person shooter and could feature a number of the aforementioned game mechanics. Could it be a sort of tactical Borderlands? Could it be a huge-world first person tactical shooter set in the Napoleonic wars? We just don’t know but we can certainly blindly guess.
What do you hope the new game by Creative Assembly will be like? Let us know below!
