An improved version of Liquid Glass in iOS 27 doesn’t mean that Apple will bring more animations or visual upgrades to the update, but the company has introduced a multitude of performance improvements that will make older devices perform like new. During the WWDC 2026 keynote, the company stated that a new CPU scheduler feature will allow even devices as old as the iPhone 11 to run smoothly, which is impressive to hear given that the latter launched in 2019, nearly seven years ago. As for the compatibility list, it’s given below.
- iPhone SE (2nd gen and newer)
- iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max
- iPhone 11
- iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max
- iPhone 12 and 12 mini
- iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max
- iPhone 13 and 13 mini
- iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max
- iPhone 14 and 14 Plus
- iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 15 and 15 Plus
- iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max
- iPhone 16 and 16 Plus
- iPhone 16e
- iPhone 17 Pro Max
- iPhone 17 Pro
- iPhone Air
- iPhone 17

In short, if your iPhone was running iOS 26, it’ll definitely run iOS 27. However, just be warned that the entire suite of features, such as Siri AI, will not be available, as only the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air are compatible with them.
