Activision debuted the multiplayer reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 today, which featured a look at some gameplay that, more than anything, spotlighted wall-jumps in Call of Duty and the omnimovement mechanics introduced in Black Ops 6.

Last week, we got some new information on the Zombies mode for Black Ops 7 with a new cinematic trailer and blog post on the Call of Duty website. Today's multiplayer reveal trailer also arrives with its own in-depth blog post on the website, which delves into the maps that'll be available for multiplayer at launch, weapons, loadouts, and game modes.

It also specifies which maps and game modes we'll be able to check out in the upcoming beta, which will go live in a little more than a week from the time of this writing.

Along with the training course, there will be four game modes available in the multiplayer beta next week: Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Hardpoint. Other modes like Search and Destroy, Free-For-All, Control, Gunfight, and Kill Order will be available in the full game at launch this coming November.

Regarding the maps, there will be 16 maps for core 6v6 gameplay that debut in the full game when it launches in November, but only six will be featured in the beta. Here's the list of maps coming in the full launch and which will be available in the beta:

  • Blackheart (Beta)
  • Cortex (Beta)
  • Exposure (Beta)
  • Imprint (Beta)
  • The Forge (Beta)
  • Toshin (Beta)
  • Colossus
  • Den
  • Flagship
  • Homestead
  • Paranoia
  • Retrieval
  • Scar
  • Express (Returning from Black Ops 2)
  • Hijacked (Returning from Black Ops 2)
  • Raid (Returning from Black Ops 2)

Today's trailer is definitely action-packed and makes Black Ops 7 look like it'll be another solid year for Call of Duty, but it arguably doesn't do much to aid Activision in its attempt to convince players it understands the "identity crisis" concerns players have had. Wall-jumps are fun, but it's not the kind of realistic and grounded gameplay that hooked players on Call of Duty in 2007 and every year since.

We'll see how the full game fares when it arrives on November 14, 2025, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Update 22/09/2025: This piece was edited to correctly identify the wall-jump movement feature in Black Ops 7 as such and not as 'wall-running.'
