On the online retailer, we noticed that AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which launched at $479 in the U.S., has seen a few discounts.
However, if you spot listings where the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is available for $199.89, like in the images below, stay far away from these as much as you can. Sure, these are stellar discounts, but only if the deal was legit. While the description reads that this particular processor features 8 cores and 16 threads, along with an L3 cache of 96MB, the top section reads that the clock speed of the CPU is 1.20GHz, with the cores belonging to the Cortex-A8 design.
Obviously, anyone who is familiar with AMD’s ‘X3D’ family of processors will be fully prepared for this scam, but there are those who cannot help but fall for such deals, and we cannot blame you, but it is also important to double-check these listings so that you can save yourself from certain distress. When we checked Amazon’s Best Sellers list for desktop processors, we immediately noticed that the Ryzen 7 9800X3D was not present, which is strange because only recently, we reported that this chip occupied the top position alongside other AMD processors.
At the time of writing, the top three CPUs in Amazon’s Best Sellers list are the Ryzen 7 5700X, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and the Ryzen 5 5600X. The lack of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D hints that it is likely out of stock, and if you want top-tier gaming performance, there is no better alternative than the 7800X3D at this time, which is currently available for $459. Remember, if a deal is too good to be true, it probably is.
