Both of these processors feature the same 8-core and 16-thread configuration, with the underlying technology separating the two product generations. Of course, if you do not mind sacrificing a little bit of performance and a few features, you can grab the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, which is available for $200 after a 20 percent price cut. The major downside is that the older motherboards compatible with this processor only support the slower DDR4 RAM, leaving a ton of bandwidth on the table.
There are several non-X3D CPUs to choose from because some of you might not just be looking to experience the best gaming performance but also in applications that require a ton of horsepower. If you want a combination of a high core count coupled with tremendous performance on a decent budget, the Ryzen 9 5900X will do your bidding just fine. At the end of the day, AMD has plenty of options, but it is up to you on what workloads you will be throwing at these processors, but act fast because it is the holiday season, and it is likely that these prices will fluctuate for several days.
