New Battlefield V Trailer Reveals New Details; ‘Firestorm’ Battle Royale Mode Supports Up to 64 Players
A new Battlefield V trailer has been released by EA DICE which reveals some interesting details about the game’s maps, gameplay, and 'Firestorm' Battle Royale mode.
The trailer looks really good, and provides additional info on what players can expect when the game releases in a few months. The most interesting new details from the trailer might well related to the game’s Battle Royale mode, which DICE has called ‘Firestorm’ and supports up to 64 players. Something that might disappoint fans is that, from the looks of it, the mode will only be available for squads.
We’ve included the new trailer down below:
Prior to this trailer, EA DICE hadn’t shared many details about the game’s Battle Royale mode, although the mode was mentioned during EA’s latest earnings call with investors.
“We’re continuing to build and look to deliver innovative multiplayer components to that game”, EA CEO Andrew Wilson said during the company’s latest conference call when asked about BF V’s Battle Royale mode. “And as we come into October, we’ll be talking more about this, but you should expect that we’ll be delivering a full featured game that features all of the traditional components of a Battlefield game in addition to new modalities of play including Battle Royale and delivered in a way that we believe we want to play which is not just what you get at launch but in the context of a live service over time. And we’re excited about what we’re able to do there.”
The trailer also shows of the game’s single-player campaign which will include four war stories - a prologue, Nordlys, Tirailleur, and Under No Flag. A fifth story, the Last Tiger, will be added to the game’s campaign mode post launch.
Battlefield V will release on November 20 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
