Today, Battlefield Studios unveiled the 2026 Battlefield 6 roadmap. Season 3 will begin next month, with two classic maps returning after being reimagined:
- Railway to Golmud (from Battlefield 4) — Set in Tajikistan after the campaign, the biggest map in Battlefield 6 yet at nearly four times the size of Mirak Valley, with expanded aerial spaces, new cover, and room for long-range and post-border engagements. Already available in Battlefield Labs testing.
- Cairo Bazaar (from Battlefield 3's Grand Bazaar) — A close-quarters map featuring tight alleyways, buildings designed for deadly ambushes, leaning into the franchise's signature destruction.
Season 3 also sees the debut of BR Solos — Battle Royale Solo as an official mode, as well as BR Ranked Play & Leaderboards, launching first in Battle Royale Quads in REDSEC. Battlefield Studios plans to expand the Ranked Play experience to Battlefield 6 multiplayer in future seasons.
Season 4 will launch in July, introducing the previously teased Naval Warfare to Battlefield 6. The two new maps are:
- Tsuru Reef — Brand new and the biggest "warground" yet, with massive air and sea spaces
- Wake Island — The return of one of the most celebrated maps in the entire franchise history
Naval-specific features include aircraft carriers with operational flight decks, new naval vehicles, and a dynamic wave system for heightened ocean combat intensity. Season 4 also brings Spectator Mode and Custom Lobbies.
Season 5 will close out 2026 for Battlefield 6 this Fall, with three maps dropping within a single season at a location described as new to the franchise. Moreover, various quality-of-life features will be released throughout the year, including Proximity Chat (with the ability to eavesdrop on enemies for tactical plays), the return of Platoons for better squad organization, the long-requested Server Browser with persistent servers and custom pregame lobbies, and MP Leaderboards. Other ongoing improvements will be made to combat tuning, soldier visibility, matchmaking, challenges and progression, and the map reworks for New Sobek and Blackwell Fields via Labs feedback.
Finally, the developers confirmed that the Open and Elite competitive series, the top tier of Battlefield competition, will launch later in the year after Ranked Play has been established and iterated on with the feedback of the Battlefield 6 community.
