Batman Arkham Knight – PC Version Outscourced to a Console Developer; PC vs PS4 Graphics Comparison
ScreenDr has released a video for Batman Arkham Knight, showcasing as side-by-side graphics comparison between the PC version of the game at both low and high settings and the PS4 version.
You can watch the video comparison below:
Given all the controversy surrounding the PC version of Batman Arkham Knight, Rocksteady posted a statement to its official support site this afternoon, saying it was now working with its "external PC development partner" on a fix. Rocksteady did not reveal the name of the studio that is working with, but the credits reveal Iron Galaxy Studios responsible for the PC port.
Rocksteady's community manager wrote:
"We're aware that some users are reporting performance issues with the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight,"
"This is something that Rocksteady takes very seriously. We are working closely with our external PC development partner to make sure these issues get resolved as quickly as possible.
"We'll update this thread when we've got more info to share."
Iron Galaxy Studios is a lesser known developer responsible for some last generation ports and iOS games. This is the team that worked on Destiny for the PS3, the PS Vita version of Borderlands 2 and had part in Batman: Arkham Origins, which also suffered heavily on the PC at launch.
It's disappointing that yet another game gets less attention on the PC compared to its console counterparts. The fact that it's an amazing game like Batman Arkham Knight, makes it far more hurtful that in other cases. Whether the issues are fixable, and the PC version can get to a level of being at least on par with the console versions in providing a smooth experience, remains to be seen.
Lets hope that the issues get resolved soon and PC gamers get the chance to experience this great game. We will bring you any new information regarding the subject as soon as it becomes available.
