Asus has also confirmed that the ROG Phone 8 is going to offer IP68 dust and water resistance. This certainly is a good thing and is mainly possibly because of a design change. Previous Asus phones had vents that would break the whole idea of ingress protection, but with the new generation of gaming smartphones, the company is going for a more contemporary design.
Now, the IP68 dust and water resistance is great, and the modern design is nothing to scoff about either, but you do have to keep in mind that you are going to lose out on the front stereo speakers that had become a hallmark of Asus ROG Phones. You are not losing access to stereo speakers; it is just that the placement will be more identical to what we see on the phones, with one speaker being near the top edge of the screen and the other being where the USB port is.
The rest of the Asus ROG Phone 8 specs include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset under the hood, a massive battery, an upgraded camera system, and subtly but tastefully done RGB lighting.
