NEXON's Q1 2026 earnings report reveals that the third-person extraction shooter game ARC Raiders has now broken the impressive milestone of 16 million units sold in around six and a half months. The game sold 4.6 million units in Q1 alone, reaching 15.5 million by the end of Q1 before crossing 16M as of this report. Needless to say, it is the most successful new product release in the company's history.

ARC Raiders, together with new NEXON releases, drove horizontal revenue growth of 188% year over year to ¥59.3 billion (roughly $409 million) in Q1 2026. Moreover, NEXON has obtained an ISBN in China, and the game is now scheduled for multiple closed beta tests in 2026 via Tencent Publishing.

An ISBN is a government-issued license number that every video game must obtain from the State Administration of Press and Publication (SAPP) before it can legally operate and generate revenue in mainland China. The ISBN approval process is notoriously slow and unpredictable; it can take anywhere from several months to years, and foreign games face additional scrutiny. The fact that ARC Raiders has already obtained its ISBN is great news for NEXON, as it clears the single biggest regulatory hurdle for the Chinese market. Combined with Tencent as the local publisher, the game is now on a clear path to launch in China, one of the world's largest gaming markets.

NEXON highlighted that ARC Raiders has consistently ranked among Steam's most-played games. More than half of all active players have already spent over 100 hours in the game, and total playtime across all players has now exceeded 1.5 billion hours.

As revealed yesterday, Embark is switching to a slower but more impactful update cadence. The Frozen Trail update, scheduled to launch in October, is described as the biggest ARC Raiders update since launch, adding several new hours worth of gameplay between a large amount of free content (including a new map), plus paid content like character outfits and personalization items.

By the way, the studio's other game, the free-to-play first-person shooter game THE FINALS, also performed well with a Q1 year-over-year growth of 47% driven by Season 9.

NEXON's report also reveals that Embark is already working on two new games, though they are still in early development and will therefore take several years to be ready. Here's the publisher's complete pipeline:
