Apple has finally announced the new Apple Watch Series 10 as part of its 10th anniversary, and upon first look, the device has been completely redesigned from the ground up. From its bigger display to its thinner profile, the Series 10 is a major upgrade over its predecessor. We will be going through the entire upgrade below, so hold on to your seats, as the device is a bigger deal than we originally anticipated.

Apple finally announced the Apple Watch Series 10 with a thinner profile and a display that is bigger than the Ultra model

The Apple Watch comes with a bigger display, but the general design language has been kept the same, which means that we will not get a circular model any time soon. While the company has not mentioned the exact display size it is bigger than the Apple Watch Ultra, which allows the text to pop out more and have more real estate area. We will be covering each aspect in detail, which you can check out below.

On the first look, the Apple Watch Series 10 is pretty reminiscent of the Series 9, but it is a lot different in many ways. Apple says that the wearable is bigger than the Apple Watch Ultra, which makes reading text a lot easier than before. It features a wide-angle OLED display that emits more light at different angles, which means that the visibility will be a lot better than the previous version.

The devices feature the same touch controls and a Digital Crown, but the speakers have been greatly improved. They also come in a new design. The speaker grill now features smaller holes compared to cylindrical cutouts on the previous version. The company also stated that the Apple Watch can now play music or podcasts right on the Apple Watch, so you do not have to worry about carrying your AirPods with you in some cases.

Apple Watch Series 10 announced with new design and major features

It is the thinnest Apple Watch that the company has ever made, coming in at just 9.7mm, making it almost 10 percent slimmer than before. Besides this, the Apple Watch Series 10 also comes in a titanium version, which weighs 20 percent less than the stainless steel variant, and it is a pretty neat switch, similar to the iPhone models. The titanium version comes in three distinct colors, including natural, gold, and dark slate gray with matching bands.

In terms of performance, the Apple Watch Series 10 comes with an upgraded S10 chip, which features a new neural network to suppress background noise. The new chip is also ready for the Apple Intelligence features, which will be available later this year with the release of watchOS 11. The S10 chip will also deliver faster performance compared to the S9 chip, but the upgrades will be marginal and incremental.

As for the new health-centric features, the company is adding a new Sleep Apnea Detection feature, which works in conjunction with breathing disturbances and motion detection. The company is not using the SpO2, which means that its dispute with Masimo will not have an impact on the availability of the feature. We are yet to see how the feature comes into play with watchOS 11 and how accurate it is when the devices see daylight.

As for the rest of the features, the Apple Watch Series 10 comes with a built-in gauge and water temperature sensor, which means that it is "perfect for snorkeling" and is available with the Oceanic Plus app with watchOS 11. There is also a new Tides app coming with watchOS 11 for tidal information, allowing users to be well-informed.

The Apple Watch Series 10 is available for $399 in a wide range of color options and it will be available for pre-orders starting today in the United States with shipping for 20 September. We will update the post with more details, so be sure to stick around for more details.
