Apple plans to step into the smart home category with its forthcoming products, and while the company still has a platform that handles all 'Home' devices, it lacks a dedicated hub. With that in mind, the company is rumored to be working on a hybrid of the HomePod and an iPad. Other than a central hub for accessories, Apple is also working on new AirPods with additional health-related features.

When we broaden our perspective, we can clearly see that the company aims to open new doors for its revenue stream through its existing devices. With that said, a prominent industry analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, claims that Apple is working on two new products, including a smart home camera and new AirPods with additional health features.

In a blog post, Kuo states that the company is working on introducing two new products a few years from now, which will be oriented towards home-based utilities and health-focused additions. The analyst suggests that mass production of the company's smart home camera will begin in 2026, and the company has high hopes for the device as it plans to sell tens of millions of units over the long term. The camera is slated to feature wireless connectivity and deep integration with Apple Intelligence and Siri. The analyst reserved additional specifics of the device for later.

It is unclear if the company's aforementioned smart camera and its HomePod with a display are the same products. It was reported that the company will introduce its smart home product next year, but it remains to be seen if the latest report revolves around home security or if it is the same product as prior reports.

Apple already has some health-related features in the current variants of the AirPods, but it is working to enhance the overall experience. Kuo claims that the future models of the earbuds will have "more health management features" like the Apple Watch. For the production of the rumored AirPods, Apple will select Chinese supplier Goertek, and the wearable will see daylight in 2026.

As mentioned earlier, Apple aims to beef up its product line with various new features, and the health aspect is potentially the most important one for the company. It was also previously reported that the company is also planning to introduce the Powerbeats Pro 2 with heart rate monitoring during workouts. The same feature will possibly be available on AirPods in the future.  The company could offer features such as body temperature monitoring and much more for the 2026 AirPods, but it remains to be seen what else the company will add to an already small package.
