Apple plans to transform its iPhone 18 Pro lineup into life-saving devices
There should be more use-cases for smartphones than reply to texts quickly and Apple has planned for that exactly with the iPhone 18 Pro

The battery capacities within the upcoming Apple iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max have become a subject of considerable interest after a high-profile information theft from a Tata-controlled iPhone factory in India revealed a sizable bump in battery capacities for the Pro duo.

Well, just a few days later, we've now become privy to the official battery capacities that Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will sport, courtesy of a regulatory filing.

Apple's iPhone 18 Pro (eSIM) to sport a battery capacity of 4,288mAh in the US, while its Pro Max counterpart will feature a 5,567mAh one

As we noted at the beginning of July, a Weibo-sourced screenshot of the iPhone 18 Pro duo-related documents - which were presumably stolen from a Tata-controlled factory in India - detailed that the eSIM variant of the Apple iPhone Pro Max was to sport a 5,425mAh battery, while its physical SIM card-bearing counterpart was presumably all set to go with a more modest 5,235mAh one.

Then, just a few days later, the tipster Ice Universe disclosed that the eSIM variant of the iPhone 18 Pro Max will, in fact, come equipped with an even larger 5,567mAh battery, which when combined with a dedicated vapor chamber and the A20 Pro chip's improved CPU scheduling, should allow the apex Pro variant to surpass its Android counterparts bearing ~7,000mAh silicon-carbon batteries.

Now, the tipster Digital Chat Station has disclosed China's C3 database filings that show:

  1. The iPhone 18 Pro in the US will sport a 4,288mAh battery.
  2. The iPhone 18 Pro in China will feature a 4,056mAh battery.
  3. The iPhone 18 Pro Max in the US will sport a 5,567mAh battery.
  4. The iPhone 18 Pro Max in China will feature a 5,391mAh battery.

Of course, the difference between the battery capacities in the two regions is likely due to the eSIM-only status of the iPhones sold in the US since the iPhone 14 lineup, where the removal of a physical SIM card tray provides more room for a bigger battery.

Also, do note that the iPhone 17 Pro Max's eSIM variant sports a battery capacity of 5,088mAh, which means that the next-gen Pro Max is coming with a nearly 10 percent bigger battery in the US.
