As per a retailer, AMD's Radeon RX 9070 XT will have much better availability next week than the RTX 50 series GPUs, potentially increasing its adoption.
AMD & AIBs Are Reportedly Shipping More Radeon RX 9070 XTs Than All NVIDIA's RTX 50 Series GPUs Combined
The Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 are going to launch in roughly two days, and the number one concern is their availability. Since NVIDIA isn't able to fulfill the demands by supplying enough RTX 50 series GPUs, all eyes are on the RDNA 4 lineup. If the recent reports are accurate, we can finally have adequate GPU supply from AMD and its board partners in the coming days.
AMD and its board partners unveiled the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 GPUs a few days ago. Since the retail launch will begin on 6th March, the first batch of the cards has likely already arrived at retailers in various parts of the world. As per Hardware Canucks, the supply for the Radeon RX 9070 XT will be much superior to the RTX 5070 on launch.
Can confirm this. Spoke to a manager on the retail side over the weekend.
They're sitting on more XT's than they had 5000-series cards so far.
Also just 15x RTX 5070 cards expected to arrive at his location in the next two weeks unless something drastic changes. https://t.co/BDAoBgxnpM

The account confirms that one of their local retail managers in Canada has confirmed a larger inventory of the RX 9070 XT than all the RTX 50 series GPUs they have received so far. Even though this doesn't reveal the exact number of GPUs this particular retailer has received, it's a good indication, considering how low the supply for the RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070 Ti were.
Moreover, it's expected that the retailer will receive about 15 times more RX 9070 XT GPUs on launch compared to the RTX 5070, which is launching a day earlier, on 5th March. This launch may be brutal for NVIDIA if it once again fails to supply enough GPUs to the distributors, as the mid-range category ($500-$700) is much bigger than the $1000+ high-end GPU segment.

While NVIDIA has yet to ship the already launched RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070 Ti in decent quantities even after a month of launch, AMD rumouredly has already taken the lead with the first two RDNA 4 GPUs in terms of shipment volumes. Do keep in mind that this report won't necessarily be common across different regions, and the market will probably need even more GPU stock than mentioned, considering the previous-gen GPUs are getting out of stock fast.
The AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is launching at $599, while the RX 9070 is at $549. As per AMD, the RX 9070 XT is expected to go against the more expensive RTX 5070 Ti GPU, while the RX 9070 will compete directly with the RTX 5070.
