AMD Confirms Full RDNA 4 "Radeon RX 9000" GPU Unveil Set For 28th February, Retail Launch in Early March 1

AMD is now rumored to hold its standalone event for the RX 9070 series by the end of February, marking the formal release of Team Red's highly anticipated GPUs.

AMD's RDNA 4 GPUs Will Be Available For Retail By March, Likely Competing With NVIDIA's Mid-Range SKUs

Team Red's RDNA 4 GPU launch was indeed troublesome when it came to pinpointing the exact launch date. Initially, it was anticipated that the models would launch by the end of January, but later on, the timeline was pushed ahead to March since AMD claimed that they needed more time to provide optimal software support for RDNA 4 SKUs. In a Benchlife report, it is claimed that, AMD's RX 9070 series GPUs are expected to be unveiled by the end of February, although the specific date isn't yet certain.

If nothing unexpected happens, AMD will hold a press conference for the Radeon RX 9000 series based on the RDNA 4 GPU architecture at the end of February, but the details are still to be confirmed.

So, with that, it is safe to say that AMD will hold a dedicated event to showcase the RX 9070 SKUs, and interestingly, it was recently revealed that we will see the debut of new X3D CPUs as well. This will be the first time Team Red has held a hardware launch in March, and it was a bit of a more strategic move since AMD wanted to analyze what NVIDIA has done with its RTX Blackwell SKUs in order to come back with a more aggressive response, or that is what we hope for.

Team Red is expected to showcase two graphics cards based on the RDNA 4 architecture, the Radeon RX 9070 XT and the Radeon RX 9070. These GPUs will come equipped with up to 16 GB of video memory. The Radeon RX 9070 XT will compete against the RTX 4070 Ti, while the RX 9070 will compete against the RTX 4070. AMD's specific focus will be on the mainstream GPU segment this time; hence, there would be no surprise if Team Red doesn't come up with a GeForce RTX 5090 competitor.

Consumers will now have to wait a bit more to see what AMD has in store for them. Based on the initial batch of leaks, the release is certainly going to be impressive, one that will massively favour mid-range buyers.
