AMD's Optimized Radeon GPU Driver For The Last of Us Is Now Available As The Game Gets Demolished For Being A Poor PC Port 1

AMD has just released a new "Optimized" driver for the recently released PC port of The Last of Us by Naughty Dog. The game was released yesterday but has been met with some really poor reviews on Steam due to its poorly optimized state which is causing several bugs and crashes for several gamers.

The Last of Us PC Port Is Super Bad But AMD's Optimized Radeon GPU Drivers Might Make The Game A Little Better For You

Unlike Hogwarts Legacy, Resident Evi IV Remake, and Dead Space Remake which manged to stay in the top-selling list on Steam for several days and weeks, the Last of Us PC port only managed to sit in the top-selling spot during its launch day and can no longer be seen on the Steam list. The main reason why that's the case is the user reviews which are "Mostly Negative".

People who have bought and played the game have reported several issues with The Last of Us PC port. Some users crash at the menu, some while playing the game, and it's very frequent. More so, users who manage to get into the game have to face various game-breaking bugs and artifacts and the list goes on. Gamers have also reported long shader compilation times and stutters even after it compiles the shaders to 100%.

Yesterday, I reported that AMD was working on a new Radeon GPU driver specifically optimized for The Last of Us. The driver was first shipped to the press and was meant to launch later in a public release.

Now Computerbase (via Videocardz) managed to discover that this AMD Radeon GPU driver "22.40.43.05' has been released and based on the changes, it does add some level of optimization for The Last of Us. AMD Radeon owners who have the game can try it out. Furthermore, new Radeon buyers can redeem a free copy of The Last of Us and try it out for themselves. Following is the changelog:
