AMD is planning to give further price cuts to its Radeon HD 7000 series lineup after the launch of NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 660 Ti. NVIDIA's GTX 660 Ti is already awaited by many fans and mid-range gamers.

To be specific, AMD would announce price cuts on Radeon HD 7850/ HD 7870 and Radeon HD 7950. The Radeon HD 7950 recently got a price cut from $450 to $350 for reference models. The retail price of NVIDIA's GTX 660 Ti is set at $299 so our guesstimate is that the new price of HD 7950 would be around $329.

Coming to the 7870/7850, both models retail for $299/$249 respectively. A $20-$40 price cut is expected on these two models too. From current benchmarks and especially TweakTown's early review, we came to know that for 1080P, GTX 660 Ti turned out the be the best GPU overall compared to HD 7870/ HD 7950.
