AMD has released its brand new Adrenalin 23.12.1 Radeon GPU Driver which adds support for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora & several HYPR-RX and UI-related upgrades.

AMD Gives Radeon Software A New Look With New HYPR-RX Features & Support For Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora In Latest Adrenalin GPU Driver

The AMD Adrenalin 23.12.1 WHQL driver is now out and as a highlight, it adds support for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The game is an upcoming "AMD Sponsored" title which is not only bundled with Ryzen 7000 CPUs and Radeon 7000 GPUs but also gets specific optimizations for these chips, making them the best hardware to play the game on. In addition to the game support, AMD has also updated its Radeon Software UI which now adds the option to enable HYPR-RX right on the Home Tab. Additionally, a new mode is being added to HYPR RX known as HYPR-RX Eco which will let gamers reduce the power consumption of their system and help them extend battery times. The HYPR-RX Eco profile will enable certain features found in AMD Radeon Software which can lead to up to 68% power savings. This feature is currently only limited to AMD's Radeon RX 7000 GPUs (or newer) and is said to run best with applications such as games running in Exclusive Fullscreen mode.

This mode can be huge for handheld devices and laptops as battery times are a big aspect of portable platforms. We can expect AMD to extend HYPR-RX Eco mode to its iGPU family such as the Radeon 700M lineup incorporated in various handhelds since they are based on the same RDNA 3 graphics architecture as the Radeon 7000 GPUs.

Furthermore, AMD wants to keep on adding more features to the HYPR-RX suite such as support for AFMF (AMD Fluid Motion Frames) which is coming out of technical preview soon. Some more UI changes mentioned in the blog post by AMD include even more customization options in the game tab.
