Apple's "It's Glowtime" event just happened, and it brought ahead some major releases that the tech community has long been eyeing. The first product to be unveiled was the Apple Watch series, but users were hooked on the new AirPods 4 as it is packed with some massive improvements in audio quality. What grabbed our attention the most was the variant with active noise cancellation capability.
AirPods 4 comes with active noise cancellation ability, making it a huge leap in the open-ear design
The AirPods 4 has just been announced, and the first thing we notice is the refined shape that allows the accessory to be comfortable and a perfect fit for users. Apple has launched two models of earbuds: the first is an entry-level model, and the second is the more premium model with a noise cancellation feature.
The high-end model is being called the AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and is a first for the Cupertino tech giant's AirPods lineup. There are tons of new capabilities that are fresh for the open-ear design. This is especially true for the noise cancellation abilities that come with it, given how challenging it is to incorporate it into the wearable.
With adaptive audio, users can reduce environmental noise without the need to constantly switch modes and be able to focus better. The conversation awareness feature is interesting and helps deal with a hiccup you normally experience when wearing an accessory and trying to have a conversation. This feature reduces the music volume when you are talking and then takes it back to the normal level when the conversation is done.
AirPods 4 comes with wireless charging, where you can use other chargers such as Apple Watch or Qi to charge. The USB-C charging case is said to be the smallest yet, packed with 30 hours of battery life. The earbuds features the H2 chip, which aids with enhancements in the personalized spatial audio feature and allows for faster pairing with devices. It is also there to help with a new "Hearing Protection" feature meant to protect the user's ears by reducing noise.
The audio performance is presented as game-changing as it comes with a richer bass and the ability for voice isolation to make the sound experience more focused and better. The AirPods 4 is available at $129, while the AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation comes at $179. The new wearable can be pre-ordered starting today and will be available on September 20th.
