NVIDIA announced that Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition is available today for streaming via its GeForce NOW cloud platform. As part of the 10-year deal with Microsoft, the GeForce NOW library has recently received Gears 5, Deathloop, Grounded, and Pentiment. The rest of the Age of Empires franchise should also land on GFN later this month.

Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition is the latest version of the acclaimed real-time strategy game released nearly two years ago by Relic Entertainment and World's Edge. At the time, the game received a 9 out of 10 score in Wccftech's review penned by Chris Wray.

Age of Empires IV is, in almost every way, a true sequel to Age of Empires II. It plays great and has a few new features that add more tactical elements to combat and how you develop your faction. On factions, it truly allows them to differentiate themselves from each other. There are slight issues, such as the population cap that feels very restrictive and the lower-quality of unit models, but these are minor in what is an otherwise outstanding game, and one where an undeniable amount of effort and work has gone into - which includes hours of documentary-style clips to support the campaign.

Just after the Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft also announced that it would allow select PC titles from the Game Pass library to be streamed via GeForce NOW. As part of today's GFN Thursday press release, NVIDIA hailed the news as a big opportunity for Game Pass users to access their content wherever they want, from PCs to Macs and mobile devices, smart TVs, or handheld gaming devices.

Neither NVIDIA nor Microsoft provided a timetable for when the first Game Pass titles will be available for streaming via GeForce NOW. However, given the pace at which the two companies have been working, it may happen sooner rather than later.

Beyond Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition, GeForce NOW users can also look forward to another addition to the library: Dordogne, the single player narrative experience released two days ago by developers UN JE NE SAIS QUOI/UMANIMATION and publisher Focus Entertainment.
