ACER has listed unreleased AMD Radeon RX 7000 "RDNA 3" GPUs in non-XT flavors including the RX 7900, RX 7800 & the RX 7700.
ACER's EEC Filing Showcases New AMD Radeon RX 7000 "RDNA 3" GPUs, Featuring Non-XT Variants of Radeon RX 7900, RX 7800, and RX 7700
ACER's entry into the DIY GPU space was very recent and its launch of AMD's Radeon RX 7000 GPUs was a bit delayed, with the firm releasing models such as the Radeon RX 7900 GRE way after the competitors. Despite that, the company made several highlights thanks to its unique custom cooling solutions such as the Predator Bifrost.
There were rumors that the company planned to unveil a custom model of AMD's flagship Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU, but with the latest EEC filing, it looks like ACER won't launch it. Interestingly, while the EEC filing mentions several variants that are already known to us, the list does include certain non-XT variants under the Radeon RX 7000 "RDNA 3" family, which AMD themselves haven't talked about for now.
This is quite surprising, considering that the EEC listing doesn't make any error since they are simply listing the trademarks that the companies are filing, and Acer's listing either indicates that AMD might launch new RDNA 3 models (although it is doubtful) or the AIB partner looks to plan for the future. As mentioned previously, the EEC filing includes the Radeon RX 7900, RX 7800, and RX 7700, all three of which aren't disclosed by AMD officially. We know that companies often trademark names of products that might launch and are not entirely confirmed to launch so that must be the case here too.
Seasonic also listed one of the models mentioned in the EEC filing, the Radeon RX 7700, but the PSU maker also listed an RX 7990 XTX, 7950 XTX, 7950 XTX, and 7500 XT. None of these cards are officially confirmed and no leaks have so far pointed out a potential RDNA 3 refresh or new SKU launch.
Well, it looks like Team Red has something in mind that Acer has provided us a glimpse of with their latest EEC listing. Given that RDNA 3 isn't as populated as previous generations, Team Red might have non-XT variants planned for consumers, but given that RDNA 4 is expected to debut by early 2025, it might not be a wise move from the firm. Regardless of it, we'll keep our eyes open if we spot new models from AMD.
