It has been a long time since we have seen a proper full-on PlayStation showcase, but rumors circulating online suggest that one is in the works and will apparently happen later this month or in early June.

Speaking on Twitter today, VGC's Andy Robinson, who provided correct information before official announcements plenty of times in the past, revealed he heard that a showcase is happening in late May, early June. What is going to be shown during this event is not yet known, but Robinson suggests we will finally get confirmation of the deal with Konami that will bring the rumored Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, unspecified Silent Hill games, and possibly a new entry in the Castlevania series exclusively to PlayStation 5.

While PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S fans will have plenty to look forward to in the next few weeks, it seems like Nintendo is not going to follow the trend set by Sony and Microsoft, as Andy Robinson is not expecting the Japanese company to do anything. As it doesn't have any major title planned for the remainder of the year, many were expecting Nintendo to make some new announcements in the coming weeks, including a Nintendo Switch successor announcement, but it looks like it will be some more time before we learn what the company has in store for the immediate and long-term future.

As Sony always hosted showcases in the late May, or early June time window, it is not surprising to hear that a new one is planned for the upcoming weeks. Still, we have to take today's reveal with a grain of salt until an official confirmation comes in. What are you expecting to see at this upcoming showcase? Let us know in the comments below.
