Samsung Galaxy S8 Teaser Image Shows Iris Scanning & February 26th Launch Date

South Korean manufacturer Samsung’s been having a lot of difficulties with its Galaxy Note 7 lineup. The phablet has ben exploding left right and center, leading to major market recalls. The replacement units which Samsung has provided a lot of users with haven’t fared that well either. While the fate of the Galaxy Note 7 isn’t confirmed as of now, we’ve started to see a lot of information surface about the Galaxy S8. Today, an alleged teaser image of the device has surfaced. This claims to provide information on the device’s launch date. Take a look below to find out more.

Samsung To Launch Galaxy S8 On February 26th Shows Alleged Teaser

The Galaxy S8 has seen a lot of rumors so far. Samsung’s next flagship smartphone will be a feature laden device. We’ve seen rumors claim an edge to edge display, dual cameras, iris scanning and more for the smartphone. Several sources also claim an expedited launch date for the device so Samsung can counter the Note 7’s negative impact. The rumor mill really does seem to eager to share information on the Galaxy S8. This fact becomes even more evident as we take a look at today’s image.

Leaker @Ricciolo has posted an alleged teaser image for the S8. It shows the launch date for the Galaxy and some other details. If we take the image as authentic, then Samsung will launch the device in the last week of February. There’s also an image of the iris in the teaser. This hints at a potential iris scanner for the device. After all, Samsung’s started to carry its flagship phablet and smartphone lineups in tandem. Take a look at the teaser below.

Samsung’s launched the Galaxy S lineup at the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Next year won’t be any different, despite claims that the S8 will see an expedited launch next year. In addition to dual cameras and iris scanning, the device has also seen more features surface. For starters, just like Apple, Samsung can also remove the 3.5mm earphone jack this year. It’ll support audio peripheries via Type-C.

The rumor grows more active as we’re about to exit 2016. Both the iPhone 8 and the Galaxy S8 have started to feature regularly. Samsung’s flagship is looking to be very impressive, especially with hardware expected to make the shift to 10nm next year. Both the Exynos 8895 and the Snapdragon 830 will power the Galaxy S8. The Exynos in particular is rumored to achieve frequencies of 3.0Ghz. While this will only be confirmed once the S8 is launched, it does paint a bright picture. Thoughts?
