MSI Displays the X79A-GD45 Gaming Motherboard for LGA 2011 CPUs

MSI has displayed its upcoming X79A-GD45 Gaming motherboard at CES 2013 which is targeted towards gamers and overclockers.

MSI's X79A-GD45 Gaming makes use of a beefed up power area featuring MSI's Military Class III components and uses a set of heatsinks to cover the MOSFETs/VRMs and the X79 PCH. Compared to the Black and Blue theme on X79A-GD45 and X79A-GD65, the MSI X79A-GD45 Gaming uses a black and gray color scheme. The PCB is matte black in color which adds a fine touch to the overall looks of the board. The X79A-GD45 Gaming comes with Eight DDR3 DIMM slots which can support upto 128 GB of Quad Channel O.C memory. Expansion slots include Five PCI-Express 3.0 x16 and a single PCI-Express 3.0 x1 slot. Motherboard supports Quad-Way SLI and CrossFireX Multiple GPU Functionality.

Storage on the board is provided through a range of SATA III and SATA II ports and a variety of USB 3.0/USB 2.0 ports for input and output. The MSI X79A-GD45 Gaming supports Creative Sound Blaster Cinema audio driver for existing HD audio CODEC. The launch date and pricing have not yet been confirmed.
