Exploding phones became a trend on the internet last year and it all started thanks to Samsung’s Galaxy Note7. However, one owner of the iPhone 7 Plus managed to record a video of her smartphone where the internals were melting and Apple has decided to perform its own investigation of this event.

The Apple Spokesperson States That the Company Is in Touch With the Customer to Find Out What Really Happened With the iPhone 7 Plus

Brianna Olivas used to be in possession of a Rose Gold iPhone 7 Plus till it started catching smoke. The video and her direct message on Twitter have been given below.

“The next morning I was asleep with my phone charging next to my head, my boyfriend grabbed the phone and put it on the dresser. He went the the restroom … and from the corner of his eye he saw my phone steaming and [heard] a squealing noise. By the time he got over to the phone it had already caught fire, he quickly grabbed the phone and threw it in the restroom … as soon as he threw it in the restroom is blew up and more smoke started coming out of the phone.”

As you can see in the image, the phone case is melting away but prior to that, Olivas states that the iPhone wasn’t getting turned on so she went to the skilled individuals present at the Apple Store where employees ran the necessary tests and told her that everything is fine and that she has nothing to worry about. Everything changed the very next morning when she reported that the iPhone 7 Plus started catching fire while sitting on the dresser.
