The Apple iPhone SE is now considered obsolete along with 7 other products.

Apple typically considers a product obsolete once 7 years have elapsed since the termination of its distribution. Accordingly, the Cupertino giant has now updated its list of obsolete products, adding 8 new items to its ever-expanding list of defunct offerings, which includes the now-iconic iPhone SE.

Do note that there is an important distinction here. Apple considers a product obsolete 7 years after it stops its distribution, and not since it first retailed.

This means that certain Apple products, such as the standard version of the Apple Watch Series 4, are not considered obsolete, while their other variants are. In the same vein, Apple typically considers a product vintage 5 years after it halted its distribution.

Once a product is declared obsolete, it no longer remains eligible for repairs and other services at Apple Stores and Apple-authorized service providers.

For the benefit of those who might not be aware, Apple released the iPhone SE, whose design language resembled the iPhone 5s, back in March 2016. The device was discontinued in September 2018, which means it was already high time for its inclusion in Apple's list of obsolete products.
