Xiaomi’s Upcoming Mi MIX 2 to Feature a Speaker That Performs Better Than the Piezoelectric One in Its Predecessor
Recapping on the Xiaomi Mi MIX internals, the smartphone features a 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio which would obviously increase complications regarding its internals. If you have not noticed this, LG’s G6 and Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have a slightly lower screen-to-body percentage because the top part needs to accommodate things like the speaker grill, front-camera, and other security features.
For the Mi MIX, Xiaomi incorporated a piezoelectric speaker and the name might sound cool but its sound quality was slightly inferior compared to the speakers of other devices. In the latest rumor, Xiaomi is looking to improve this functionality through the use of a better hardware choice.
Xiaomi Rumored to Be Working With AAC Technologies to Construct a New Quality Speaker for the Upcoming Mi MIX 2
To improve sound quality considerably, Xiaomi is said to be working with AAC Technologies in order to create a new speaker for the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2. For those unfamiliar with the company name, AAC Technologies makes tiny speakers and vibrators for haptics and have been making components for smartphones for quite a long time now. Suffice to say, it looks like they know what they are doing when it comes to improving the audio quality for the Mi MIX 2.
According to an analyst via GSMArena, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2’s speaker will be closer to a 3GPP standard, offering better audio as a result. That is definitely impressive because previous rumors have suggested that Xiaomi intends to increase the screen-to-body ratio of the upcoming phone to 93 percent, which is going to require a whole lot of next-level engineering and design to accomplish.
Among the specifications, a Snapdragon 835 and 6GB LPDDR4X RAM are said to be a part of the internals, and it looks like we could be seeing an OLED panel on the near-bezel-less flagship. The announcement date is yet to be confirmed, with sources claiming that it will be unveiled during Q4, 2017.
