Apparently, the device outfitted with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is said to feature a 200MP main camera, but that is not the impressive bit. The part that will knock your socks off is that the same unit supports up to 4x optical zoom.

In total, tipster Ice Universe mentions on the micro-blogging social network Weibo that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be equipped with four cameras, with one of them sporting a maximum resolution of 200MP. Given that Samsung is the only camera maker in the smartphone industry that actively works and mass produces sensors with an abnormally high megapixel count, this unit will undoubtedly belong to it. Additional information from another tipster, Digital Chat Station, reveals that one brand was testing out a 35mm custom optical primary camera and a 200MP HP9.
This sensor will reportedly be found in upcoming Vivo and Nubia flagships, with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra being next on the list. Another advantage that this model should have against the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Galaxy S25 Ultra is that the 200MP camera is not the only one sporting a lossless zoom functionality. The rumor reveals that a secondary zoom lens will be a part of the rear quad-camera configuration, though the maximum zoom level was not mentioned. It is a rare moment for a flagship smartphone to feature four cameras at the back, and the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be one of them.
However, it is not just the optics hardware that is necessary for producing high-quality images and video, as software processing is equally important, so we will see how much effort, resources, and manpower the company has invested there.
