A custom XFX Radeon RX 9070 XT was spotted in a listing, carrying a price tag of $849.99 and a boost clock of up to 3.1 GHz.
XFX Mercury Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Listing Reveals Launch Date as 6th March But a Bit Too Expensive
While AMD confirmed that the RX 9070 series will be launched in March, various rumors and reports have been circulating around, suggesting that the exact date will be 6th March. This is confirmed from one of the latest RX 9070 XT GPU listings alongside some more crucial information.
As shared by the user @momomo_us, the XFX Mercury AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Magnetic Air Edition with RGB' was listed on an unknown retailer (update: it's Amazon), revealing some specs, price, and release date. The listing states that the GPU will be released on March 6, 2025, and will cost $849.99. We don't know if the price is in US or Canadian Dollars, but considering if it is listed with the latter, the price in USD will be $599. However, the former is also possible since we recently saw a custom RX 9070 XT listed for as high as $836.
The GPU appears to be a premium edition of the RX 9070 XT with a boost clock of 3.1 GHz. This was leaked previously in a benchmark where the RX 9070 XT was seen delivering over 200 FPS in Monster Hunter Wilds. While it's good to see the GPU performing well and released in the first week of March, we are unsure whether the mentioned price is a placeholder. It is challenging to predict the prices right now, but this is AMD's only opportunity to grab the attention of the gamer community and offer GPUs at competitive but appealing prices.
AMD is expected to price these GPUs aggressively, and according to Azor, the 9070 series will target the RTX 5070 series. That said, considering the RX 9070 XT goes against the RTX 5070 Ti, AMD has no chance if it prices the GPU at $749 or higher, assuming the performance is equivalent. On the contrary, it must price it around $600 (or $649 at max) to actually make it look like an appealing option.

That said, the RX 9070 will then compete against the $549 RTX 5070 and should be priced noticeably lower. AMD has already delayed the GPUs by several weeks, citing reasons such as software stack optimizations, but a big part of the plan was possibly seeing how NVIDIA is strategizing its 70-class GPU launch and releasing the RX 9070 cards around the same time frame.
