We have known that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 would be getting a big story expansion for some time, and the first look at it came earlier this year with a tease that showed the main characters from the first two entries in the series ready to fight against a rather familiar face from the original Xenoblade Chronicles. The long silence since the first reveal was broken yesterday when Nintendo announced with an intense trailer that the Future Redeemed expansion will release next week, on April 25th. Just like for all the DLC released so far, which added new features such as Challenge Mode and new Heroes and thus new classes, the big story expansion will only be available as part of the Expansion Pack.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 launched last year worldwide on Nintendo Switch to critical and commercial acclaim. Commercial success for the series by Monolith was far from being taken for granted back when it began, as getting the first entry in the series to release in North America required fans to band together and launch Operation Rainfall to show Nintendo there was strong demand for the game.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is now available on Nintendo Switch worldwide. The Future Redeemed DLC will launch as part of the Expansion Pass next week, on April 25th. You can learn more about one of the best role-playing games available on the Nintendo console by checking out our review.
