Where Winds Meet arrived on PC and PS5 in November 2025, and shortly after on iOS and Android mobile devices in December 2025. Today, as part of the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 for Summer Game Fest, it is finally arriving on Xbox Series X/S consoles. The open-world action adventure from publisher NetEase and developer Everstone Studio was shadow-dropped during today's event, and you can go download and play it on your Xbox Series consoles, now.

It's a free-to-play adventure that you'll be able to reach through the Xbox PC app, Xbox Cloud and an Xbox Game Pass subscription as it joins the library of games there right away. It's a welcome addition for Xbox console players who may have been waiting for it to make the jump to Team Green, though at least it's delayed arrival doesn't come empty handed.

Today's reveal also includes a new look at the game's next major expansion titled Hidden Mountain, a follow-up from its recent Imperial Palace expansion, which added a major area and was the biggest expansion the game has seen yet. Now, the Hidden Mountain will add yet another massive area when it arrives in July 2026, according to a press release. "A breathtaking, multi-layered 3D vertical landscape that further expands the open-world exploration, rewarding curious players with hidden surprises, deep secrets, and traversal challenges at every elevation."

There's also a custom Where Winds Meet Xbox controller to mark the occasion, and if you're a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, you'll also be able to get a leg-up on the rest of the Xbox newbies with a starter pack that includes 450 Echo Jade, 90,000 Coins, and items that are key for progression like Attune Stones, Lingering Melodies and Pillow Pills.

Series X players will be able to hop in with full HDR and AMD FSR 2 support for an upscaled 4K resolution and a maximum 2K resolution on Series S, the console that we recently learned is holding back No Rest for the Wicked from the Xbox platform.

Where Winds Meet has reached over 80 million players across every device since its launch, which isn't the most surprising since it does offer a compelling open-world in a free-to-play package. When Where Winds Meet arrived on PC and PlayStation this past November, Wccftech's Francesco De Meo gave it an 8.5/10, saying, "Where Winds Meet delivers an exceptional open-world experience, successfully blending an engaging story, meaningful activities, a solid combat system paired with competent character progression, a wealth of multiplayer options, and one of the most lively cities in the genre."

"Though some of its features and mechanics suffer from the constraints of the free-to-play model, the good undeniably outweighs the bad, making it a rare title that can captivate even players who typically avoid similar open-world games, easily providing hundreds of hours of content even in its launch state."
