There is nothing different about this Vivo X Fold 3 teardown, to be honest. The device opens up just like any other foldable phone. You power off the device, remove the SIM card slot, and you start taking the device apart. The more you look at the teardown, the more you appreciate the engineering marvel of this phone, and I am really glad that we are getting more and more into foldable phones.
The Vivo X Fold 3 also has massive copper foil that ensures that the device does not heat up. It also features the second generation of ultrasonic fingerprint readers, something we don't often see on foldable phones. The motherboard features a dual-stacked design, and there are three camera sensors on the top secured with a plastic housing that also houses the flash cable, ambient light sensor, laser focus module, and microphone.
The teardown further reveals the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 powering the Vivo X Fold 3. The RAM here is provided by Samsung, and you also get a copper vapor chamber to ensure that the phone's thermals are under control. The phone also uses a dual 5,700 mAh silicon anode battery—much like other foldable phones in the market, Vivo uses two cells, so each cell has a 2,850 mAh capacity.
