Choosing a carrier plan is a herculean task on the best of days, and if your carrier is Verizon, the task typically becomes even more onerous, courtesy of Verizon's heretofore penchant for overly complicated plans and bundles.
Now, however, Verizon is aiming to transform its plan-based complexity into simplicity via the so-called Verizon Simplicity unlimited 5G plan.
Verizon Simplicity starts at $45 per line, and entails unlimited 5G Ultra Wideband data plus 10GB of mobile hotspot data, and a lot more
At its heart, Verizon Simplicity is a restructuring of how Verizon builds its plans, jettisoning the complexity of the past to adopt more streamlined, easy-to-understand pricing tiers.
Verizon Simplicity starts at $45 per month but you can grab it for as low as $30 per month under AutoPay and carrier-switching promotional discounts.
The plan includes unlimited 5G Ultra Wideband data, 10GB of mobile hotspot data, international roaming in Canada and Mexico, and a satellite-based texting service. You can add home internet as well for just $35 per month.
What's more, Verizon Simplicity is quite flexible, allowing you to bring your own device, purchase a certified pre-owned one, or opt for the annual hardware upgrades available via the Simplicity Plus and Pro tiers.
You can add customized bundles specific to your unique needs, such as the "For Movie and Show Lovers bundle” that allows you to stream movies, series, live sports, and more with Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ (with ads), Netflix, and HBO Max (with ads), or the Travel bundle with Global Calling Plus and 3 Travel Pass Days.
Also, Verizon has now debuted its 'Verizon One' plan for newcomers, allowing you to unify your mobile and home internet billing under a single $70 per month pricing tier.
These moves are part of a broader flexibility-focus trend that is permeating the carrier industry right now. For instance, just a few weeks back, AT&T launched its "Build-A-Plan," an entirely customizable wireless experience designed to empower consumers with fiscal and functional autonomy over their mobile connectivity, with the base tier starting at $15, and offering unlimited calls and texts along with 1GB of data.
