Uncharted Unreal Engine 5 Imagining From MachineGames Indiana Jones Designer is a Sight to Behold

A stunning Uncharted Unreal Engine 5 imagining has been released, featuring cutscenes, platforming, combat, stealth, and vehicles.

Created by Daniel Arriaga, a level designer at MachineGames on the upcoming Indiana Jones game, this fan concept is a solo developer project. In the past, the designer already created a Metal Gear Solid video within Unreal Engine 4, and we now have a rather spectacular recreation of Uncharted within Epic's latest game engine. "Uncharted: For Old Times' Sake - my original adventure in Unreal Engine 5, featuring platforming, stealth, combat, vehicles, and cinematic cutscenes", the level designer writes. Unlike other UE5 concept videos, this video is rather lengthy and features plenty of different aspects. Be sure to check out the video below - you won't be disappointed (thanks DSOGaming):

As with all of the Unreal Engine 5 fan creations, this showcase is in no way affiliated with the original franchise, and as the creator has mentioned - it will never have a public release.

As said, Arriaga is currently working with Bethesda's MachineGames on the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Prior to his position at MachineGames, Arriaga was a designer at Ubisoft on Assassin's Creed Valhalla and later, an "unannounced AAA action-adventure game".

The most recent Uncharted entries are, of course, Uncharted 4 and spin-off The Lost Legacy. Both games are included in the Legacy of Thieves Collection. Hopefully, Naughty Dog will one day decide to release a new entry in the series or work on a remake/reboot of the original Uncharted.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is a tasteful update to two great, but perhaps not quite classic, adventures. Whether this collection is for you will largely depend on your situation. Those who haven’t played either game probably won’t feel their $50 has been misplaced. Perhaps the folks best-served by this collection are those who bought Uncharted 4 on PS4 but skipped Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (based on sales numbers, a large number of people did that) – they’ll get the PS5 upgrade and essentially an all-new game they haven’t played for only $10. If you’ve already bought both Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy, the value of the PS5 resolution and performance upgrades are more debatable. In the end, it’s up to each thief to decide how to spend their fortune.
