It has been merely a month since Samsung revealed its flagship series, the Galaxy S25 lineup. This time, we saw major Galaxy AI features make their way to the devices. The most anticipated model was the company's premium phone, Galaxy S25 Ultra, especially with the inclusion of the S Pen. Although the company continued with the series' hallmark, the S Pen, it did not extend Bluetooth connectivity and the Air Command feature, causing functionality limitations and taking away some key features.
Many users have expressed dismay over this change and even filed petitions to request Samsung restore these in future models. In addition, the Galaxy S25 Ultra seems to still struggle with the same problem of magnetic accessories interfering with the S Pen's accuracy.
Galaxy S25 Ultra's S Pen's accuracy and responsiveness are affected by the magnetic accessories, yet again
One of the aspects of the Galaxy S25 Ultra model that users have been glad about being retained is the built-in S Pen. Although the S Pen is meant to offer many advanced capabilities, including Air Command and Remote Control, it has been removed from the latest flagship model, which is now more relevant for writing, drawing, and navigation. The lack of some of the prior functionality that owners of the previous Ultra model enjoyed has left some users feeling slightly underwhelmed.
This is not the only issue that the new model brings about, as the magnetic accessories are said to disrupt the S Pen's performance, and issues related to accuracy and responsiveness keep arising. Andrew Myrick of Android Central experienced the issue when using a Fiberborne case with the S25 Ultra. When trying to make the S Pen work, a notification that stated the magnetic interference leading to the functionality being impacted is said to have popped. The following is the pop-up message:
Magnetic accessories can interfere with your S Pen: The magnets in accessories can interfere with the signals your S Pen sends to your phone. They may cause your S Pen to not write correctly or cause Air commands to occur unintentionally.
This is not the first time such an inconvenience has been encountered, as similar feedback was shared regarding the Galaxy S24 Ultra for months. Many users reported that their S Pen was even unresponsive due to the magnetic accessories clashing with the input of the stylus. While you would assume that removing some of the functionality would help resolve the issue, it did not seem to have any impact.
It is important to highlight how the issue stopped persisting once a MagSafe adapter was attached to Samsung's official case. It could be possibly due to the thickness of the case keeping the S Pen and the magnetic accessory at a distance, leading to reduced interference. While the company has not yet given any official statement on the issue, such problems can be of significant inconvenience. This is especially true for users who tend to use the capability regularly and, hence, should be dealt with promptly for a seamless experience with the device.
