The Last of Us Part II Trailer Introduces New Infected and Old Joel, Release Date Revealed
Last week Naughty Dog promised they were finally going to give us a fresh look at The Last of Us Part II during Sony’s latest State of Play show, and sure enough, they delivered. The new TLOU2 trailer of course features the brutality we’ve come to expect, and a glimpse of some terrifying new infected, but the big mic-drop moment is the reintroduction of a rather distinguished-looked Joel, confirming our old friend isn’t dead. He will be making some other people dead though. Check it out for yourself, below.
Impressive stuff! We also now have a good idea of what The Last of Us Part II’s plot will be. Basically, it looks to be a revenge tale, with Ellie vowing to wipe out another band of survivors after they kill her friend/romantic interest Dina. Of course, when Joel gets wind that Ellie is fixing to do a bunch of killing, he decides to tag along. Overall, it looks like the plot will be surprisingly simple, but I’m sure Ellie and Joel will have plenty of emotional baggage to work through.
Sony has also unveiled several special editions for The Last of Us Part II. First up, we have the Special Edition ($80), which includes “a PS4 dynamic theme, a set of six PSN avatars, a custom SteelBook case, 48-page mini art book from Dark Horse.”
