A presentation at Summer Game Fest features the announcement of 'Stranger Than Heaven' with a release date of '2027.01.15' displayed on screen, alongside images of several characters.

After being fully revealed as Stranger Than Heaven during Summer Game Fest 2025, in the 2026 show, RGG Studio returned to reveal that we'll all be able to jump into Stranger Than Heaven alongside Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur on January 15, 2027.

The trailer was capped off with the reveal that Tupac had joined the game's cast, something made possible due to the relationship between Snoop Dogg and Tupac's family. "The Tupac estate and my son and myself, we work very closely together," Snoop Dogg said during the onstage presentation. "So it just made sense to put him in this game, because his likeness and his spirit still lives on, I just felt like it was so connected to what we’re doing."

The 2027 release date confirmation confirms rumours we heard last year, that both Stranger Than Heaven and Persona 4 Revival wouldn't arrive until sometime in 2027.

Beginning in 1915, the game's protagonist Makoto Daito has to choose between staying in America or heading back to Japan after his father suddenly passes away shortly after the family moves there. It looks to be like another stellar narrative adventure from a team that specializes in deep and detailed narratives.

The presentation was also made significant by the fact that director Masayoshi Yakoyama made the trip from Japan to America for the first time in two decades, to make the presentation live on stage alongside Snoop Dogg.

The rapper also had a moment to plug Death Row Games, a game development endeavor he's approaching alongside his son, that he says will have an update coming in the next few months.
