A new State of Decay 3 trailer was shared today, providing a new look at the third entry in the series in development by Undead Labs.

The new trailer, which was shown during today's Xbox Games Showcase 2024, focuses on both story and gameplay, showing how the game is indeed coming along rather well, as teased last month. Unfortunately, neither a release nor even a release window was confirmed in today's trailer, so we don't know exactly when the game will be released.

Set years after a zombie apocalypse nearly wiped out humankind, State of Decay 3 is the next evolution in the State of Decay franchise. As the zombie threat continues to claim lives, you must fight back and reclaim lost ground, carving out a life for your community of survivalist homesteaders.

State of Decay 3 is currently in development for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. A release date has yet to be announced. You can learn more about the previous entry in the series by checking out Alessio's review.

State of Decay 2 is every bit as fun and rough as the first game was in 2013. It feels like a game that would have massively benefited from additional resources during development given its numerous technical shortcomings, but even so, its core (improved in this sequel) remains unique and fun to play, especially with friends. It's one of those titles that can be described as being more than the sum of its parts.
