Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness Confirmed for PS4 & PS3
We reported earlier that Square Enix was going to be releasing a new JRPG on consoles, and it looks like we were indeed correct. Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness has officially been confirmed via the wonderful site, Famitsu. All the photos below are courtesy Famitsu.
Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness has been confirmed with a fantastic reveal trailer and a plethora of screenshots and concept art.
This fifth installment has been a much anticipated entry once the franchise went quiet in 2009 with the release of Star Ocean: The Last Hope. Developed by Tri-Ace, the original developer of the first Star Ocean in 1996, they are looking to further evolve their action RPG entrant. It'll feature even more engaging and seamless realtime battles where it appears that even NPC's might actually participate in that action with you, or against you.
Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness will have its story take place between the second and third installment. The prologue, when translated, is a fantastic glimpse into what adventure we can expect.
Do the depths of space forbid peace for mankind—
Centuries after leaving Earth, after a multitude of trials, with the creation and spread of the ‘Galactic Federation’, humanity was on the verge of unified order and peace.
But the embers of conflict have begun to burn again.
Over 6,000 light years from Earth, on the unsettled planet, ‘Faicreed.’
Just as so many times before, the waves of history begin from a remote planet.
Currently there is no release date and no details as to when, or if, there's going to be a western release. But because of the mostly positive reception of the previous Star Ocean games, there is no reason why we wouldn't see it in North American and Europe. Enjoy the release trailer below, though it is in Japanese.
