Apple introduced MagSafe to the iPhone lineup with the iPhone 12. The way it works is simply genius - the charger attaches to the back of your iPhone using magnets for perfect alignment and hold. And since the connection is rock solid, therefore Apple was able to push the charging speeds from 7.5W to 15W on the newer iPhones.
If you have one of many MagSafe compatible cases, this charger will work just fine through them. However, you have to make sure you are using a 20W or higher adapter in order to get the full 15W speeds wirelessly. You don’t want to be slowed by anything at all.
