Samsung rumored to unveil new Bixby with the Galaxy S25 launch

The integration of Galaxy AI was reported by several research firms to be one of the driving forces behind the increased sales of the Galaxy S24 series. The Korean giant will likely introduce an improved features set with the Galaxy S25 launch that is slated to happen in early 2025, but one tipster who is somewhat well-informed about the firm’s plans, states that we should prepare ourselves for a new Bixby unveiling.

For those who forgot, the voice assistant was announced back in 2017 and replaced the S Voice assistant. With generative AI picking up the pace, can the revamped version bring some much-needed change? One tipster believes that it will be the best selling point of the Galaxy S25 range.

As always, crucial information was left out as to how or why Bixby would be the Galaxy S25’s biggest selling point

With the availability of Google Gemini, it would make little sense for Samsung to introduce Bixby as a standalone service, but keep in mind that we reported about a previous rumor talking about how the Galaxy S25 lineup would be integrated with Google’s second-generation Gemini Nano update. Galaxy AI would likely leverage the features present in Gemini Nano, increasing its functionality and use case.

Similarly, Bixby could be introduced in the same way. Then again, earlier this year, Samsung claimed that it remained committed to improving its voice assistant with generative AI instead of finding a replacement, and based on Ice Universe’s new post on X, that appears to be the plan. This rumor also reveals that the Korean technology behemoth views Google’s Gemini as competition rather than something it would consider as a replacement.

However, some of Ice Universe’s followers are not too keen on believing the tipster, but he remains adamant and is hopeful of proving the naysayers wrong. Given that Apple Intelligence will be integrated with Siri when iOS 18.3 releases, Samsung does not want to get left behind in the race. Of course, the true extent of Bixby’s capabilities will be found out when we receive future updates, so stay tuned.
