Samsung's Advanced Intelligence was its way of presenting the extended capabilities coming to the S24 lineup at the Unpacked event in January. Later on, Apple took inspiration from this move and added its own twist to the AI upgrades by terming them Apple Intelligence. The Galaxy AI incorporation with the S24 was the most-selling feature for the S series. However, the tech giant seems to have curtailed users excitement by announcing that these upgrades would not remain free for long. While users had forgotten the mere mention of limited access to the tools, the company recently reminded us that the services come with a cap.
Samsung advises users to enjoy free-of-charge AI services till 2025, as Galaxy AI will be charged from 2026 onward
In a press release, Samsung announced that Galaxy AI is going one step ahead by extending its capabilities to a wider Galaxy ecosystem with the help of the seven Galaxy Experience Spaces opening up globally. The press release's footnotes stated the tech giant is adamant about not having such advancements being offered for free and would be charging for its AI tool from 2026 onward. Samsung set a reminder in the footnotes for users by reiterating its plans for the features:
Galaxy AI features will be provided for free until the end of 2025 on supported Samsung Galaxy devices.
Other big companies offering Generative AI, such as Google Gemini, Open AI's ChatGPT, and Microsoft's Pilot, have services available for free for users to indulge in. However, these AI initiative leaders are now distinguishing between the facility for free users and the paid users by offering a premium version with more advancement, such as ChatGPT Plus, an upgraded version for users with subscriptions.

Samsung has the option to go down the same lane and create two tiers for features, one that is standard and free for users and the other that holds a greater set of updates limited to premium users. This disparity would let users reap the basic advancement offered by Advanced Intelligence and then pay for indulging in a more enhanced experience. The company may have plans to go ahead with this approach and offer the paid version as Galaxy AI Plus, similar to the competition, but details on this are left in the air for now. The only thing we know for sure is that the free version is only available till the end of 2025.
For now, the South Korean tech giant seems more focused on expanding the Galaxy Experience to users worldwide, including seven more spaces, such as Paris, Dubai, and Tokyo, as part of the experience zones.
