Samsung has once again pushed the boundaries of what a premium tablet should be with the launch of its new Galaxy Tab S11 series. The company has officially unveiled the lineup that packs looks and performance in a single package, while equipping them with a heavy dose of AI features. The company showcased two models, the Galaxy Tab S11 and the more powerful Tab S11 Ultra, which will cater to everyone from casual users to professionals who demand high-end features and much more.
Samsung announces the new Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra to compete against the M4 iPad Pro, featuring powerful internals, Galaxy AI, and much more
The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is the highlight of the lineup, which is as thin as the 13-inch OLED iPad Pro with an M4 chip, coming in at just 5.1mm. However, the dimensions are quite different as it features a larger 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, and despite the huge size, it is impressively portable at 692 grams of weight. The screen itself is stunning, offering a 120Hz refresh rate, an anti-reflective coating, and peak brightness of 1,600 nits, perfect for watching content, creating, or simply working in brighter environments.
The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chip, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and as much as 1TB of storage capacity. However, the storage does not end here, as you will also have the option to upgrade it via a microSD card slot to a staggering 2TB. It is not all about the specifications and performance on paper, as the company has equipped the devices with its deep integration of Galaxy AI features within One UI 8, which is based on Android 16. This means that from summarizing text to refining sketches and handling smart multitasking, AI plays a central role in how the tablet adapts to your workflow.
The battery life of the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is equally impressive, offering up to 23 hours of video playback and supporting 45W of fast charging. The device is built with durability in mind as well, with an Armor Aluminum frame and IP68 dust and water resistance. Samsung has also seen fit to perfect the S Pen, making it lighter, hexagonal for better grip, and ready to support the new AI features, but it does not give you the option to charge wirelessly, which could be a drawback for some.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 is as powerful as the Tab S11 Ultra, but in a smaller package
Apart from the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, the company has also announced the smaller Galaxy Tab S11, which features an 11-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel as well, with a resolution of 2560 by 1600, and also comes with a 120Hz refresh rate with a peak brightness level of 1,600 nits. It is also surprisingly thin at just 5.5mm. It also features the same MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset for enhanced performance, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage capacity, and can be extended via microSD card to up to 2TB.
The smaller of the two also comes with a bigger 8,400mAh battery that will offer up to 18 hours of video playback and can be charged at the same 45W speed. It is built tough with Armor Aluminum and features IP68 dust and water resistance, keeping up with its bigger, more premium sibling. It also comes with the same S Pen. Both models come with a desktop experience with DeX support, which turns the S11 and S11 Ultra into a mini workstation. You have the option to connect an external display to devices or attach a mouse or keypad for extended navigation and controls.
Both products also feature 7 years of OS upgrades and security updates, extending the device’s lifespan well into the future. The smaller 11-inch Galaxy Tab S11 is available at a starting price of $799.99 for the base variant, and the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra comes in at $1,199 for the base version. The devices are available starting tomorrow, September 4, in select markets in Grey and Silver color options. We will cover more details on the new tablets and how they hold up against the competition in real-world tests, so be sure to follow the coverage.
