Galaxy Ring FCC Listing

Ever since Samsung briefly flashed the Galaxy Ring in a limited setting at the Mobile World Conference 2024, the smart ring has been the talk of the town for being the first of its kind and bringing in promising health-related upgrades. Since the launch of the device is around the corner, new details related to the product keep coming in, with the latest one bringing some salient information. In the recent FCC filing, detailed information on the upcoming wearables was found, which gave us particulars like the ring size and images to give a better preview of the ring with model number SM-Q503.

The Galaxy Ring could last up to 9 hours longer than the Oura Ring and comes with a battery capacity of up to 22.5mAh

In earlier reports, it was claimed that the Galaxy Ring would be available in nine sizes. The FCC database now showcases the complete sizes, starting from 5 to 12, and each size is assigned a model number (via DroidLife). The numerical modeling for the ring is as follows: SM-Q503, SM-Q502, SM-Q501, SM-Q500, SM-Q509, SM-Q508, SM-Q507, SM-Q506, SM-Q505.

Compared to the Smart Ring, Oura Ring is the wearable's current competitor, offering sizes from 6 to 13, focusing more on the larger sizes. For the battery size, there is not much difference in the capacity offered either, and the size would pretty much be according to the ring size you are going for. The largest size would come with a 22.5mAh battery, while 18.5mAh would be offered for sizes 8 to 11 and 17mAh for the remaining smaller sizes. Previous speculation also suggested the smart ring could last up to 9 days on a one-time charge, while the Oura can roughly extend to 7 days.

Although the ring showcased in the FCC listing is in the basic color black, we were given a sneak peek at the remaining two colors at the MWC that the smart wearable would be sporting: gold and Silver.

The Galaxy Ring is meant to be a health monitor to help you keep track of your heart and the blood flow through the built-in ECG it offers, as well as many other relevant trackers. While the feature set the device seems to offer is great, it comes with a hefty price tag of $300 to $350 in the U.S. and is surely trying to match up with the competition in terms of an add-on subscription model. The much-awaited health product is slated to come alongside other important launches, such as Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra, and many more at the Galaxy Unpacked in a few weeks.
